VEXTOR mechanics

Now that VEXTOR has been out a while, I thought I'd make the scoring and wave mechanics public, so people can aim for higher scores. This information applies to all platforms. If you're the type of person who likes to figure this stuff out for themselves, stop reading!

Enemies

Each enemy is worth a set amount of points and drops a set amount of bitz

* The health of these enemies is multiplied by the player's bullet count ("power")

The point value is multiplied by your score multiplier and added to your score. When an enemy is killed by a bomb, the base point value is multiplied by 10, on top of the score multiplier. This is the key to a high score, especially in Ramen Time.

Game Mode Details

Enemies come in waves, with a varying delay between them depending on mode and wave type. The amount of enemies spawned each time depends on your "level", which is based on your bullet power. Note that destroying all on-screen enemies immediately spawns the next wave, no matter what the timer thinks.

Classic

There are 4 waves of single wanderers, 3 seconds apart, before 5 or so random waves (without avoiders). Then another 5 or so random waves (with avoiders)

After wave 15, a wave of followers can spawn every 5 waves, setting the wave delay to 20 seconds, and a wave of avoiders can spawn every other 5 waves, with a delay of 20 or 45 seconds. As your level increases, there is a higher chance of followers spawning in a circle around you instead of at the corners.

After wave 20, turrets spawn every 10 waves, increasing in number every 30 waves.

After wave 20, lasers spawn every few waves, increasing in number every 30 waves.

After wave 20, a random wave is always spawned.

Asteroids spawn every 10 waves. The wave delay is set to 10 seconds.

Bombs spawn every other wave after wave 15.

When you die, your score multiplier and bullet multiplier is reset, and the wave restarts.

Ramen Time

Every wave after that is a random wave, with a delay that starts at 5 seconds and decreases according to your level.

After wave 20, turrets spawn every 10 waves, increasing in number every 30 waves.

Lasers never spawn.

Asteroids spawn every 5 waves.

Bombs spawn every 10 seconds

When you die, your bullet multiplier is reset, and you go back 5 waves.

Bombscare

Followers spawn at a delay that starts at 5 seconds and gradually decreases according to your multiplier.

Bombs spawn every 2 seconds
